Make two with same color thread.

For the  AG sized dolls:

Using a size D hook and crochet cotton (I use Knit Cro-Sheen for a softer touch), chain 41 stitches

Row 1: sc in second stitch from hook and each stitch (40 sc), chain 2 and turn

Row 2: *dc in next stitch, dc inc in next stitch*, repeat until you get to end (60 stitches), chain 2 and turn

Row 3: (picot edge), 2 dc in next stitch, *skip 3, 2 dc in next stitch, chain 3, 2 dc in same stitch*, repeating * to next to last stitch, dc in last stitch, do not turn but do sc up the front edge to within first stitch of row 1, then chain 3 for button loop, do sc in first stitch of row 1 and fasten off. Sew tiny round button onto opposite site of button loop.

For a GF (14") sized doll:
chain 31 stitches initially and use a size 3 hook, but otherwise follow same pattern.
